

Matthew Lam
M.A. in Counselling Psychology, RP
Matt completed his M.A. in Counselling Psychology at Western University. He is a Registered Psychotherapist has gained valuable experience providing therapy to university students at King’s University College in London, Ontario and youth athletes. Matt also provided services at an inpatient addictions treatment center where he delivered psycho-educational groups on regulating emotions, managing withdrawal symptoms, and strengthening relationships.
Alongside Matt's clinical experience he brings along 12+ years of playing competitive sports ranging from hockey, soccer, ultimate frisbee, basketball and volleyball consistently competing at a national level. Most notably Matt's main sport is ultimate frisbee and has played ultimate frisbee at a professional level and in his off time coaches his own high school aged team. Matt uses his own personal experience combined with his clinical training to help athletes who feel like their emotions get the best of them during their games or those who find it difficult managing life and sport.
Matt uses an integrative approach to therapy and draws upon multiple evidence-based modalities such as Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Strength Based Counselling. He believes in taking a collaborative approach when working with clients to create a treatment plan that addresses clients’ challenges, contexts, and hopes for the future.
