Dr. James Son received his Doctor of Chiropractic from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) and graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) at the University of Waterloo. Prior to The Spot RPR, Dr. Son had the pleasure of working at the Sherbourne Health Centre and CMCC campus clinic where he provided services for patients of all age groups. During this time, Dr. Son was busy treating musculoskeletal-related conditions ranging from chronic pain to acute injuries. At the CMCC clinic, Dr. Son participated in the GLA:D program (Good Life with osteoArthritis: Denmark) where he taught and guided patients who have osteoarthritis with exercises and functional movement.
His mission is to help patients overcome pain, become more confident with movement, and become functionally stronger through individualized, goal-directed treatment. He hopes to accomplish this by using his various skill sets including exercise rehabilitation, manual therapy, dry needling/acupuncture, education, and more. Dr. Son has a passion for treating patients of all ages and backgrounds especially older adults with osteoarthritis and competitive athletes. He also has an ever-growing interest in clinical research and strives to read the latest clinical guidelines and literature in order to provide the most optimal treatment for his patients.
Dr. Son grew up as a competitive swimmer and also enjoys weightlifting, boxing, basketball and ice hockey. Outside of the clinic, you can catch Dr. Son creating his next DIY project or playing with his adorable dog.
Aside from English, James is fluent in Korean and can conduct appointments in either language.
